Fusion was an experimental project where I began to incorporate art history—specifically, pre-Hispanic Latin American art—into my designs. Initially, I intended to create illustrations of my family, but I realized I was representing Latin culture solely through skin or hair color. That’s when I understood I needed to embed art history and cultural richness into my designs. In the illustrations, we can see how elements of Mayan art are reflected, while preserving the style and modernity of the creations. This project served as a bridge to explore my roots and culture more deeply.
