El Dorado, A Modern Look to Pre-Hispanic Art

The “El Dorado” series draws inspiration from Pre-Hispanic art traditions of South America and parts of Central America.

Guided by Human-Centered Design (HCD), the project collaborates closely with indigenous communities to co-create contemporary products that feature innovative designs while honoring and preserving their cultural heritage.

Characterized by prominent zoomorphic figures, the series reimagines ancient metalworking traditions through textile applications—a craft that largely disappeared following the arrival of the Spanish in the Americas.

The project has led to curated exhibitions and keynote presentations.
