A Visual Exploration of the Self

Project Description

This two-week introductory project helps students learn and apply the elements and principles of graphic design by translating four dimensions of human experience—physical, social, mental, and spiritual—into visual compositions.

Through research, interpretation, experimentation, critique, and refinement, students explore how visual decisions can communicate meaning. The goal is not to illustrate each experience literally, but to transform it into a visual language through color, form, typography, hierarchy, contrast, rhythm, balance, and composition.
